This section is offered as a general guide to a few commonly used Spanish words and
phrases. It is intended to familiarize you with some of the language used daily and
stimulate you to communicate with the wonderful people of the community of Cabo San
Lucas. In the hotels and restaurants most speak enough English to communicate with
you in English, however outside the tourist areas you will have to really test your
Spanish. But always remember, "promise to not laugh at their English and they won’t
laugh at your Spanish"... Be patient, listen, and when speaking English to a Spanish
speaking person, it will help if you speak English just a little bit slower...
The following few phrases and words English-Spanish are grouped into situations you may
be confronted with, if you speak Spanish please feel free to send us e-mail of the many

- Hello! -- ¡Hola!
- Good morning -- Buenos dias
- Good afternoon -- Buenas tardas
- Good evening -- Buenos noches
- How are you? -- ¿Cómo está?
- Fine or very good -- Muy bien
